Daniela Pestova

Daniela was born on October 14, 1970, in Teplice, Czechoslovakia. Daniela is a stunning international super model, at 5’11” with blonde hair and blue eyes, she looks like the all-American girl. She grew up in the presence of the Iron Curtain where there wasn't much of hope of having a successful life.

Daniela had the dream of attending a college and getting her degree in Education. At the age of nineteen, she was 'discovered' by Dominique Caffin of the Madison modeling agency while in Prague. He convinced Daniela to enter a local modeling competition, and she ended up winning. Caffin then took her to Paris to sign with the Madison agency. Daniela was picked out by Paul Marciano, president and creative director of "Guess" to model in some of the most memorable advertisements in the company's history.

Daniela soon appeared on the covers of magazines such as Cosmopolitan, Elle, Glamour and Marie Claire. She landed a major contract with the cosmetics company L'Oreal, and become their spokesperson and print model. Daniela also entered into a contract to appear in the famous Victoria's Secret catalogue.
Daniela has made many huge accomplishments, and two of the most important, she says, were marrying her husband, Tomasso Buti, and giving birth to their son, Yannick Fausto. Buti, conveniently enough, was the former CEO of the flailing Fashion Café. Buti resigned from his management role at the model-fronted eatery amid allegations that he squandered funds. Unfortunately, Daniela called it quits with Buti in 1998 and the two got divorced soon afterwards.

Daniela feels the most professional achievement that she is proud of is her appearance in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue in 1995. Daniela says that after her modeling career she plans to settle into family life and have more children, and maybe become a translator. She currently lives in the Hamptons and also has a house in Miami. Daniela has her own annual swimsuit calendar. It's is evident that Daniela's beauty has endured through time and she is going to be gracing the covers of magazines for years to come.

Nació el 14 de octubre de 1970 en Teplice (República Checa). Esta rubia de ojos azules, perteneciente a una reputada familia, siempre quiso estudiar una carrera universitaria. Sin embargo, este plan de futuro cambió al ganar un concurso de modelos con 19 años. Ni ella misma creía que vencería; de hecho, nunca había pensado trabajar dentro del mundo de la moda. Fue un cazatalentos de la agencia Madison, Dominique Caffin, quien la convenció para que se presentara a esta competición tras verla pasear por las calles de Praga.

Tras este inesperado triunfo, firmó un contrato con la agencia de Caffin y se fue a vivir a París para intentar alcanzar el éxito como modelo. Sin embargo, su consagración le llegó en 1990 tras ser fichada por el presidente de la firma Guess?, Paul Marciano, para que protagonizara sus campañas, junto a la top model [Claudia Schiffer]. Tres años después, y sin saber nada de inglés, se marchó a la conquista del mercado estadounidense. Y lo consiguió, convirtiéndose en portada de importantes revistas como Marie Claire, Cosmopolitan y Elle, entre otras.

En 1994, Daniela Pestova, que ha ocupado en dos ocasiones la portada del número especial de bañadores de la revista Sports Illustrated, conseguiría otro éxito en su carrera: convertirse en imagen y embajadora mundial de la firma L’Oreal. Sin duda, esto supuso el nacimiento de una nueva top model.

Feliz mamá
A medidos de los 90, Daniela se casó con Tomasso Buti, presidente del fallido Fashion Cafe, un matrimonio que se rompería en 1998. Sin embargo, fruto de esta relación nacería Yannick Fausto (1996), que se ha convertido en la ocupación principal de la modelo.
